I’m still trying to recuperate after my fall. I am so sore. I think I need bed rest for a week or so. I’m sure Hubby would love that!!! I’ve been so sickly during this pregnancy; he might just change his mind about more kids.
Speaking of Hubby, his dad was sick this past weekend, so he was not in church. He called upon Hubby to do a lil’ preachin’ on Sunday night. Church starts at 6 and is usually over about 7 or shortly after. The first 20 – 30 mins is spent on singing, announcements, offering, etc. The last 30 – 40 mins is the preachin’.
I was not able to attend because I was on bed rest all day, which strangely was ordered by Hubby. When he got home he told me it went well but he went a little long. I didn’t think anything of it. He said he got good feedback. I was happy for him because he loves to preach. (He even does it at home when I’m the only one in his audience… if you catch my drift.)
All the sermons are on the church’s website, so yesterday at lunch I took the opportunity to listen to Hubby’s. He preached for an hour. No, not an hour for the entire service, an hour just for Hubby preaching. And I could tell at the end he was trying to wrap things up quickly.
I could just imagine some of those people sitting in there looking at their watches as 7 came and went and Hubby was still going strong!! Ha ha That just tickles me because some people want to come to church and get in and out so they feel like they’ve done their Christian duty for the day. That’s not what it’s all about.
I’m glad Hubby did a good job and got good feedback. I’m glad he preaches what God lays on his heart. So many preachers today are worried about pleasing the people instead of pleasing God. I’ve got a good Hubby and an AWESOME God.

Pre-K
I was asked to teach the Pre-K class at church on Wednesday nights. It will be every other week. I sat in on the class last week and there were 3 little boys. I have heard rumors that there have been 10 kids before. That, I’m not looking forward to. Tonight is my first night so I’m sure it will start off with a bang!!
I did ask someone to be my assistant. With 3 Pre-K’s I’m fine, but 10? I think not. So as far as controlling the class, I’ll be fine. Sunday afternoon I copied my lesson and handouts and read over it, so I feel prepared to teach.
I’m really kind of excited about it. I’ve never taught before because I didn’t think I was smart enough to. Hopefully if I mess up, a bunch of 3, 4 and 5 year olds won’t know it. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Sunrise service was this morning at 7. The sun was coming up when we were leaving our house at 6:30, so we actually missed the sunrise. Oops. We had a potluck breakfast afterwards. My breakfast casserole was a hit. It makes me happy when I take something to a potluck and I don't take anything home. Then we had Sunday school and church at 10 and 11, respectively. Then dinner at MIL Terri's. Yummy!!! I won't even go into the details on that. It's always maxed out. And she even made a red velvet cake. And it was delicious.
We hung out there for a while and then went home and relaxed and then went to pick up Gavin. We played cards last night. I miss those days of playing cards. Hubby and I were addicted to those things when we first got married.
Remember, today is Easter!!! The day we celebrate Jesus' resurrection!! He died on the cross and then rose on the 3rd day. We serve a risen Savior!!!

The B-I-B-L-E
Yes, that's the book for me
I stand alone on the word of God
The B-I-B-L-E!!
I have to work on some things in my spiritual life. I mean, we go to every service and are active in church, but I feel like I’m not where I need to be. I need to spend more time in God’s word. I am going to make a plan to read my Bible every day on my lunch break. At least the very least!
Today I read James 1. It talks about patience. I have none. None whatsoever. What a great thing for me to read today. It also talks about faith and putting your faith into action. Another great concept for me. I need to work on both these things. I guess it’s no accident that God led me to this passage.

Glory x 2
Glory #1
Church was great. Pastor preached on repenting. We all must repent and turn back toward God. I mean, look around you. This world is going down deeper and deeper each and every day. There was a day when it seems like everyone we knew went to church and now most people don’t. People’s morals and values have really changed, and it’s sad. Even people that claim to be Christians or go to church don’t behave the way God wants us to. I know I have a lot to work on to live the way God wants me to and be a good example to others.
Glory #2
So we all know I’m trying to eat better. I’ve been eating low fat popcorn for my evening snack. I usually use the no calorie spray butter along with some Morton’s hot salt (salt that’s hot) for flavor. So I thought to myself, if I am going to continue this popcorn snacking, I need to come up with some different flavors for myself. So here’s what I came up with

Morton’s hot salt and garlic powder. Wow!! This is good. It’s spicy and hot and yummy!!!
And…
Cinnamon and Splenda. This tastes like cinnamon toast. For anyone not familiar with this el cheapo breakfast treat, here goes… Spread butter on a slice of bread and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Toast it in the oven. You can’t beat it. And that’s what my popcorn tasted like!! Yummy!!!
And yes, I did get my praise on.

Praise
I have a friend that wears polo shirts and khakis all the time, pants in the winter and shorts in the summer. She wears this ensemble so often that we laugh about it being her uniform. And since we actually do wear uniforms where we work, this sometimes causes confusion when she refers to her uniform. For example, I might ask her, “What are you wearing when we go to dinner on Saturday?” Her response, “I’m wearing my uniform.” For a split second I always picture her sitting there in her work uniform and it throws me for a loop. Anyhoo… the reason for this big explanation out of the blue, is so you’ll understand why I shall refer to her from now on as Pink Polo. Oh, I forgot to mention, her favorite color is pink. So, on to the real story…
As we were leaving work today, I mentioned to Pink Polo that I would be attending church tonight, so I wouldn’t be able to exercise. We have to drive about 30 mins to church so exercise just isn’t fitting into the picture. So she looks at me and serious as a heart attack says, “Go and get your praise on!” You said it sister!! I thought I would fall out in the floor (or the asphalt in this instance). Now I don’t know if Pastor would appreciate me going wild in the service, but it’s always a thought.

What I Love About Sunday
Sundays are great. Even though they are pretty busy, I just love Sundays. This morning we got up early and went to a Sunday School breakfast at 9. There was some yummy stuff!! You just can’t beat sausage gravy over soft biscuits. Mmmmmm!!! Then Sunday School at 10 and church at 11. We were there til about 12:30. We had a baptism this morning. Praise the Lord.
We usually have lunch at Hubby’s parents’ house. His brother’s family comes too. Terri’s Country Kitchen always serves up something good. But this Sunday she didn’t cook since she cooked at the Sunday School breakfast. I don’t blame her. So we went home and grabbed some cold fried chicken out of the fridge for lunch. Then I took a nap. I woke up in time to freshen up and head off for evening service.
A nap always refreshes me and I can stay up a little later at night. Oh, who am I kidding? I can still go to bed at my regular time even if I do take a nap. Hee hee Hubby says I’m a dead beat and if I would quit “laying around smelling my own farts” I wouldn’t be so tired. Well, first off, ladies don’t fart. Duh!! And a lady needs her beauty rest, so no amount of rest can be enough. We must be beautiful!! Right?

Christmas Banquet
Tonight we had our Christmas Banquet at church. First we ate dinner, then a short message from Pastor and then Santa came out. He read the story of Jesus’ birth and handed out small presents to the kids. It was fun.
The fellowship hall was beautiful. There were numerous trees with white lights and red bows on top. The big 12 ft tree at the front of the building was decorated with gold and red balls. And the lights were dimmed for ambiance.
As for the food… The church provided turkey, ham, and dressing (remember the difference between stuffing and dressing). Everyone brought a side dish and a dessert. I made broccoli casserole. Yummy. I don’t make it very often, but it was good. It had cheese in it. You can’t go wrong with cheese. My dessert was a twist on éclair cake. You know, the dessert with graham crackers and pudding? Well, I used chocolate graham crackers and mint flavored pudding and topped it with milk chocolate frosting. Then a grated some of those peppermint Hershey’s kisses on top. It was sooooo good.
The food was set up buffet style. And guess what! My table got to go first. It just doesn’t get any better than that. In a group of 200 – 250, you don’t want to be at the end of the line. The only problem that I face in this buffet style line is that there are several different choices for dish. 3 or 4 different macaroni and cheeses. I usually try to get the one that looks like it’s the farthest thing from being made fresh from a box. But then you move a few feet down the table and there’s another mac and cheese, better than all the previous ones. Now you’ve already chosen the best of the worst and then you come to the best of the best. It makes me mad. Why don’t they put all of one thing together, so you can know you are picking what you really want.
Heck, I don’t even like my food to touch on the place. And I have to eat all of one thing before moving on to the next. And I like to eat all my sides first and my meat last. And I usually get a roll, but I never eat it. I guess that’s why they don’t ask freaks like me to organize the food.

Praise God, I'm Justified!!
Every Wednesday night is church. Hubby’s dad is a pastor, so we go to his church even though it’s about 30 minutes away. It’s a great church, great people, excellent pastor. And I can honestly say, I can really feel God working in my life like never before. Now that’s good stuff.
Tonight, Pastor was preaching on being justified. Praise God I am justified and going to be with him in Heaven one day. If you believe that God sent his Son to die and that His blood covers your sins, you are justified. That should make you shout for joy!!
Pastor gets so excited when he preaches. I love it!! He gets to going on a point and he talks til he runs out of breath. You know what I’m talking about? You wonder if he’s going to get the last word out before you can’t here it. Sometimes he starts preaching so hard, I think he’s going to fall out. It scares me. Not the hard preaching, but that he might fall out. But God knows, if he were to talk his last breath preaching, that would be the way he wanted to go. So, I’ll just keep listening and learning, but still hoping he doesn’t fall out.

Revive Us Again
The revival at Max Creek Baptist Church with Lou Rossi, Jr started Sunday morning and ends tonight. Brother Rossi is such a blessing to us, and what a better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than in the house of God? We have had several lost souls saved and many Christians have rededicated their lives to the Lord.
