Back in February I bought a Valentine themed scrapbook and some little doodads to go in it for my Secret Sister. It was only a little 8 page scrapbook and I also bought some matching paper, 2 packs of stickers and a pack of letters. It all had a matching Valentine theme. It was only $1 per item so I bought myself the same thing. We have a “Sweetheart Banquet” at church for Valentine’s Day each year. I figured that would be perfect to put in my little scrapbook.
So I took the camera with us, but there’s only so much you can take pics of at a church dinner. Ya know? I have just enough pics to put 1 on each page. But that’s fine because 1 pic is about all you can fit on a page. I told you it was small.
I finally started putting the thing together last night. It’s actually kind of neat. I am really excited about it. I’m wishing the pages were a little bigger so I could fit more stuff on there. And I’m wishing we had more varied pictures. Most of them are just us standing there. Duh… I mean, we look good, don’t get me wrong. But I would like to be able to admire our goodness from different angles.
I always thought scrap booking wouldn’t be any fun, but I’ve got to say, I like this. I’m just trying to figure out what I’m going to scrapbook next. I’m thinking of the different pictures I’ve taken and I’m thinking of some new projects. Can you imagine how many scrapbooks I could make over the next few years?
Right off the top of my head, I know we have a lot of pictures from the pumpkin patch this past October. I think that would make a great one. With pumpkins and corn stalks and scarecrows and bales of hay. And I do have a TON of pictures from the beach this past summer. I suppose that would make a nice scrapbook too. I could use waves and fish and other nautical stuff.
When I get done with my first creation, I will post pics. That might be weird, pics of pics. Oh well. You can admire my Valentine creation. And if you think it looks stupid, please tell me before I decide I need to do more scrap booking. It ain’t cheap. I don’t want to invest in a bunch of doodads if it looks stupid. I did find some stuff through ABC, LTD or whatever you call it. And it’s not quite as expensive. I even found a big box of different sizes of foam letter stickers. It was $5, but it was the size of a large Chinese takeout box. I’m sure that means something to someone.
Anyhoo… I will post pics of the thing. If I don’t finish tonight, I’ll capture what I have so far. I’m excited to share my creation.

That sounds fun. I have always thought about scrapbooking, but like you said, it is expensive. I got to the point where I bought an album and some cute sheets, but it went out the window shortly after that! Can't wait to see your first creation.
You are better than me!!! You'd think I would LOVE to scrapbook, but it is not one of my favorites, but due to my artsy fartsy side, people always seem to give me scrapbooking stuff!!! I might even have some extra stuff laying around I could pass on to you!
Good luck...can't wait to see it!
