Hubby stayed up until about 4 am getting the 4 wheeler together and wrapping things that we hadn’t originally planned to wrap. I went to bed about 12:30 am and I think I remember rolling over at some point and him not being there. We told Tiny that he had to wake us up before going downstairs. He woke us up at 6:10 am. I didn’t think we would make it, especially Hubby.
We got the even on video and the first thing Tiny said was something about how important Christmas was because Jesus was born. He’s so smart. I’m so proud of him.
Tiny was surprised about his 4 wheeler. His dad got him a minibike, so I was worried that the 4 wheeler may not be as excited as we had originally hoped. But it was. He opened the set of keys and didn’t know what to think. He said, “This is the way Christmas works. You open a set of keys, then you go and open the front door and there’s a brand new car in the driveway”. I thought I would lose it when he said that. I told him that if Santa brought him a new car, I wanted it. He looked so funny riding around in the dark (it was only 6:30am) in camouflage pajamas, VT crocs and a full face helmet. I’m so glad he likes it.
My dad came over for a few hours before lunch. We opened gifts and had a little brunch. It was fun. I had to finish making food to go with us later. Then we took him to ride the 4 wheeler for about an hour in the afternoon before going to Hubby’s Maw Maw’s. No nap in sight.
We had a big meal at Maw Maw’s house and a bunch of family was there. We opened a few more gifts. The adults exchanged ornaments. We left about 8:30, but I swear it felt like 11:30. Then home for some much needed rest.
