The Beach!!!

We had decided that the only vacations we were going to take this year were long weekends in the camper. Hubby's brother (Chico) and family were not planning a trip to the beach either, considering that they will have a 2 or 3 month old baby. Oh my. Not to mention their other 2 kids.

A little background. Chico and family usually go to the beach with his wife's (Red) family and stay in a big house. I'm talking an oceanfront house with elevators and a private pool. Sweet!! So, they were going to miss out this year.

Well, now they've decided to go to the beach but there's no room for them in the family compound. So, Chico wants us to go in together and rent a house with his family at the same beach where Red's family will be and during the same week. This just happens to be the same beach that my family went to growing up. That's convenient.

I won't even have 5 days of vacation by July. I will only have earned 4 days and 4 hours of vacation halfway through the vacation. This means that I am 4 hours shy. I am working over to make up this time the week before we leave so that I'll have enough comp time to be gone. Oh, the price to pay for a beach trip.

So here is the place we found to rent. It's not oceanfront, but it's pretty close. If I'm not mistaken, there's houses on the ocean with a street behind them. On the other side of the street are houses that face the ocean. Backed up to those houses is our house!! So I'm thinking we will be in the 3rd row. So we really aren't far from the water.

AND, without even trying, we find out that the house we've chosen is about a block from the one Red's family is renting. Don't take this to mean that we are renting some fangle dangle house. We aren't. It's actually CHEAPER than I would have liked. Athough if I can weasel my way into a private pool, watch out!! So here's where we will be for our vacation this summer. Yay!!
