I made it through my first week. It was Friday before I was able to log onto the computer. Man, it's tough to be away from a computer that long. If I haven't sent you my new email address, I will send it along on Monday.
I was away from my desk for a little bit today and when I came back, I had a little bag on my desk with a bottle of Bath and Body Works lotion and a gift certificate for some office snacks. Wow!! I sure am getting spoiled. Everyone got one for their hard work. I'm going to have to do some good work to make up for it. I sure don't feel like I've done anything thus far to earn it.
I've been sitting at the receptionsist's desk and sitting in on interviews this week. Not to metion reading policy manuals. Talk about boring. Reading those things is no fun. But I am getting a good idea of what goes on and what I'll be doing. I think I'm really going to like it. I will have to keep up with my case load that is assigned to me, meeting deadlines and such. But as far as interviews and stuff like that, I will make my own appointments, so I kind of set my own schedule as far as that goes. How nice. There's a lot of forms and stuff to keep up with, but I think I'm pretty organzied, so that should be no problem. And interviewing people seems to make the day go by much faster.
Everyone is nice and very helpful, so I think I will get along with everyone pretty well. I have a really nice supervisor so no problems there. I've already rearranged my office. You know how I enjoy that. And I've started bringing in some stuff to decorate, so it's feeling more homey. So, overall, I like it and I actually like going in to work. We shall see what the future brings...
