Mini Farm

We got moved this weekend. There are boxes everywhere, but we are out of the townhouse. Yay!! Now it’s time to unpack. This should only take us several months, right? I can’t even bear to think about it.

We have about 4 acres of land. Hubby plans to get goats. Actually, his brother bought a couple of goats and brought them home to his house IN TOWN and put them in his backyard. I’m not sure exactly how long it took for his wife to find out about them, but I’m sure the kids were quick to rat him out. Needless to say, the goats are no longer welcome there. So we shall take them in. They are pygmy goats. A mommy and her little girl. They won’t get very big. And the mommy goat likes to head butt the little girl goat. It’s kind of funny. Is it cruel for me to laugh at that? Anyhoo… Now Hubby has found a dwarf goat that he plans to bring home in a week or so when he’s got the electric fence up. Here’s a picture of him. He’s so cute!!! I’m gonna be a goat farmer!!! Well, ok, maybe I’m not, but Hubby will be. I will stand on the back deck and wave at him as he wanders around the goat area.

We have a nice deck on the back of the house and I saw a pond today that I would love to put out there. No digging required!!! I think it would be a really easy first project for me. Ok, not really a first project being that unpacking all our junk is a MAJOR project. So the pond can be a second project. And it looks like you just have to set it up, so it should be pretty easy. And I can get some pretty fish to go in it. Yay!!!

(no this is not be, but think how good I would look tending to my pond)

The only thing I’ll need next is a nice cushy chair to sit in on the back deck and enjoy the sounds of the water rippling across the waterfall of my pond. I can sit out there with a big hat, big sunglasses, a nice big sweet tea (I don’t actually drink tea, but I’m trying to set a mood here.) and read my Better Homes and Garden magazine, searching for new ideas for our home. Every now and then I will glance up and wave at Hubby fiddling around with the goats. It don’t get much better than that, huh?

You'll have a great time with those goats....just watch your pants and don't squat down!

It's nice that you all have a place of your own now that you can do projects like this. It always makes me feel so peaceful to work outside in the garden or barnyard.

Enjoy and can't wait to see it!!
