Last Day

Today was my last day of work at the pokey. I had planned to leave about 3:30, but I got a call from Tiny's school about 1:45 saying that he had a fever, so off I went. It was kind of sudden and I didn't get a chance to do one last round of the place. But, maybe that was for the best.

Before lunch someone came to the window with flowers. I thought maybe they were for me. My mind was rolling through who might have sent them. It was Sweet Baby Girl!! Yay!! How sweet. Hence the name... Sweet Baby Girl. They were very pretty and springy. I'm sure they'll last for a while. They look good in my kitchen.

I did get my ice cream cake. It was good and all my worker peeps came to have a piece with me.

It was so strange, but I had no feelings of sadness when I left. I mean, I will miss my friends, but I expected to get a little tear in my eye. That almost happened when I got the flowers and read the card. But otherwise I was good. I also thought I would start being nervous about the new job, but that didn't happen either. I have to believe that this is all because I have prayed so much about a new job and relocating that this is God's plan for me.

So about Tiny... I picked him up and headed straight for the Dr. The urgent care didn't open until 5 and you could get there at 4:30 to sign up. Why I didn't call ahead is beyond me. So, we came home and he rested until we left to get there at 4:30. We got there about 4:35 and signed in. It was so packed, there was hardly any place to sit. We finally got called back about 6:10. They did a strep test, which was negative and we were out of there at 6:30. No medicine or anything, just a $25 co-pay and 2 hours lost. But I'm glad it's not strep. Just what I need is to get sick when I'm supposed to start my new job.

I will update Monday night on the new job!!
