My alarm went off at 5:15 this morning. I normally hop right out of bed, but this morning I laid there for 3 minutes before I got up and cut the alarm off. Shame on me. But I did get up and get dressed and go downstairs to do my video.
Our TV in the living room is as old as Methuselah. I was hoping that the DVD player was already connected so I wouldn’t have to worry about hooking it up. I lifted the DVD player and tugged the cords a bit to make sure they were attached and guess what. Cords not attached. I turned the TV around the found that there were cords already attached to the back of the TV, but they lead nowhere. They weren’t attached to anything on the other end. And there’s no other contraption down there with the TV so I have no idea what went on the other end. So, I proceeded to connect the DVD player to the TV. By the way, there were 3 cords attached to the TV to begin with: red, white and yellow. The DVD player only had red and white. And let me just say that the red and white didn’t go into where the red and white were already plugged. Now just use your imagination to figure out how long it took me to get the color combination correct.
Then I went looking for the remote to the DVD player. How can I skip the hard parts if needed without a remote? Just kidding! But I did need the remote. It was nowhere to be found. By this point, I was getting aggravated. I thought about getting back in bed, but I knew I couldn’t go back to sleep so I went searching for the remote. I woke Hubby up to ask him where it was and when he couldn’t find it by groping around on his nightstand, he told me to look under the bed. I found numerous pairs of his shoes and then… Eureka!!! So I went back downstairs and fired up the video.
Note to self: flannel pajama pants may be acceptable while on the elliptical, but not for cardio exercise DVD.
Another note to self: if you have to get down on your knees on the hard wood floor, you need some sort of padding so your knees don’t grind into the floor.
I spent a good half hour with Bob from The Biggest Loser. Whew!! I was sweating by the time it was over. Funny thing, Bob wasn’t sweating. I wonder why? Oh, it’s because he demonstrated the move once and then he just walked around pointing at the other people on the video who were doing the moves.
So on to the main reason for this post. I did enjoy the video. It wasn’t hard as in I couldn’t do the moves, it was hard as in I feel like I got a workout. There wasn’t anything I couldn’t do. No doing the karate kid stance with 50 pound dumbbells in each hand. Although I did have to balance on one foot during the cool down. So I shouldn’t have any problem doing it again tomorrow morning. And there are 3 or 4 different levels, so when I’ve mastered this one I can move onto the next one. I just can’t wait to move onto level 2 and Jillian!!!

You have more patience than me....if I had to do all that to EXERCISE that early in the morn, I would have given up with a humph! We all know that HokieGirl would have planned it all out so the cords would be labeled with a label maker and set up 3 weeks prior to the video, complete with testing! :o)
